Сan you tell us more about your journey as a writer and what inspired you to start writing at a young age?
As a child I loved telling stories. With several visual artists in my family, it quickly became a hobby of mine to build narratives around what I saw. I was always very proud of my imagination and its ability to dream up the unimaginable. Being able to communicate those thoughts to others was very special.
Your book, «The Creativity Gene: 5 Universal Traits to Spark Success,» seems to have had a significant impact on your community. Can you share some examples of how your words and stories made a difference in the world around you?
I deeply believe we all have a book within us. A book that can help others. We have each had unique experiences that have directed our lives in diverse ways and sharing those experiences with others allows our communities to grow with us.
What motivated you to focus on empowering entrepreneurs and creatives through book writing? How do you believe it enhances personal and business brands while fostering genuine connections with communities?
I believed from a young age that you could either be business oriented or creative. I did not see how there could be a connection between the two. As I was growing up, society emphasized two very distinct and separate stories. However, through my own personal experiences during an internship at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, acquiring my Master’s Degree in Business of Arts and Culture in Venice, Italy and entering into the professional world, I quickly learned that the two are very integrated. I believe the more we bring attention to this connection to both communities, the more opportunities we will all have to explore the world around us and learn from it.
It’s clear that your family, particularly your grandfather and mother, had a significant influence on your creative journey. Can you elaborate on how their backgrounds shaped your approach to writing and storytelling?
My grandfather, Matt Lamb, was a world renowned artist when he passed away in 2012. Before his creative career, till the age of 40, he owned the largest chain of funeral homes in the midwest. What led to this drastic life change was a death sentence — cancer. He decided if he lived through that diagnosis that he would sell his business and begin painting. It turned out that he had mononucleosis, not cancer! That moment gave him freedom, hope, and happiness to pursue art professionally without any proper training at all. His courage, optimism and strength inspired me to believe that you have the power to own your story. This in turn proved to me that owning your story is the most authentic, daring, and spectacular way to live your life.
My mom, Sheila Lamb-Gabler, was the only member of my family that followed my grandfather into the world of art. This transition proved that she too was just as brave and fearless when facing new challenges and embracing opportunities. While she was adapting and thriving in this new career, she consistently sought out ways to express herself and expand her community. For example, she participated in the Mrs. USA Pageant in 2001 as Mrs. Illinois. This experience allowed her to cultivate a community of feminine support and empowerment worldwide within the global institution that Dr. Tracy Kemble has created. My mom’s ability to pursue new experiences proudly and fearlessly has encouraged me to never turn down a chance to learn, to grow, and to always challenge my comfort zones.
You mentioned your extensive travel experiences and your Master’s Degree in Business of Arts and Culture. How have these experiences contributed to your perspective on creativity and entrepreneurship?
Travel has been one of my greatest teachers of all time. I have learned that there are countless reasons we are connected to people across the globe. I have had the honor and opportunity to work in over 25 countries across South America, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. I have studied at the Louvre in Paris, France, and interned at the Dali Museum in Barcelona, Spain. I have also worked on cruise ships as an Art Auctioneer and Gallery Director working alongside over 60 nationalities for three years. I learned through all of these experiences, and more, how creativity is a universal language. We are able to connect with people we barely know over shared ideas, cooperative problem-solving, and creative execution in order to make our goals come to fruition. This collective motivation transcended language barriers and cultural differences allowing for truly inspirational and global results.
Being named one of the «Top 20 Female Entrepreneurs to Look For in 2021» and one of the «Top 100 Dynamic Leaders» in 2021 is a remarkable achievement. How do you believe writing, creating, and experimenting play a vital role in the success of entrepreneurs, artists, and businesses?
Writing, creating, and experimenting are not only tools for expression but also essential components of success for entrepreneurs, artists, and businesses. They enable effective communication, innovation, problem-solving, branding, and customer engagement while fostering adaptability, personal growth, and the ability to inspire others.
Your recent self-published book, «Laid to Rest: The Hopes, Haunts, and Humor from My Life Above a Funeral Home,» explores a different aspect of storytelling. Can you share more about the inspiration behind this book and how it has impacted your passion for storytelling?
This different aspect of writing professionally hugely influenced the way I approach storytelling. “The Creativity Gene” is heavily based on years of research and several personal experiences. I wrote it intending to help my readers recognize, acknowledge and empower their own creative strengths to improve and enhance their lives and their life experiences. “Laid to Rest’’ is based on true stories of my mother’s life as a child growing up above a funeral home. The goal we focused on for this book was how to focus on hope when you are surrounded by darkness. Therefore, we spent a lot of time discussing and reliving her childhood experiences that made the biggest impression on who she is today. Being able to translate my mother’s memories into stories to be enjoyed and read for a wider audience was an incredible challenge, and a wonderful way to learn more about how my mother grew and how it has also influenced me. This transformation of storytelling forced me to take a unique perspective — as if I had never heard these stories before — which helped us both to discover how to make the most impact on our readers.
You mentioned providing motivation and encouragement to aspiring writers. Could you share some advice or tips for those who want to make the world a better place through their writing, just as you have?
Making the world a better place through writing is a noble and impactful endeavor. Every writer has the potential to make a difference, no matter the scale. Your words have the power to inspire, educate, and bring about positive change in the world. When you stay true to your purpose, and keep writing with passion and dedication you will cultivate opportunities for deep, genuine, and life-changing connections.

Looking ahead, what are your future goals and aspirations in your writing career and in helping others share their stories and make positive changes in the world?
Since becoming a mother, I can see how creativity is embedded within our human experiences from day one. To be human is to create. My daughter shows me every day that creativity is not solely a skill to be honed. It is a muscle that we consciously, or even unconsciously, utilize regularly. Therefore, It is critical that we each embrace our own unique expressions in order to make the world a better place. With that in mind, aside from continuing my own writing journey with several books about the importance of creativity planned for 2024 and 2025, I aspire to continue empowering future storytellers to own their creativity and share it with the world. Creativity is your unique ability to produce new results, and the only way to reach those ambitions is to simply begin, one word at a time.
