Five Reasons the Crown Fits Better After 50
For most of my life, opportunities to model or take part in fashion shows came my way, but for one reason or another, I always had to say no. Deep down, I couldn’t explain it — it just never felt like the right time.
This invitation, however, was different. The timing felt perfect, the stars aligned, and I had the unwavering support of my family and the encouragement of dear friends who believed in me. At 52, I feel stronger and more confident than ever, and I know this is my moment to show that beauty, grace, and self-expression have no age.
I’ve embraced this journey wholeheartedly — learning, growing, and preparing — not just to represent my region, but to inspire others to embrace who they are at any stage of life, and to never stop believing in new beginnings.
Every Woman Has a Story
My story begins from a very humble community verging on the poor side of lifestyles. As I was growing up , I quickly realised that I was getting unwanted attention that later led to abuse and violence and therefore I wanted to hide myself and my body more than show it. For many years I was caged and it took a long time to rebuild myself, gain my security and confidence as a woman. I haven’t overcome all but with age comes great wisdom and the battles I have fought and the lessons I have learnt in life, give me the power to be on a Global stage this year at 52 years young for the very first time! I want to take this opportunity to inspire others and if I can be of good influence for them to stand up, feel free and express themselves, it will be all worth it.
Style Becomes Second Nature
I’ve always been particular about style, even as a child. I remember noticing a woman’s shoes before I even looked at her face. I was fascinated by striking clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories, and even at a young age, I had a sense of style beyond my years. Later, when I began building my own wardrobe, I looked for quality and style and would often buy one item, which turned out to be the most expensive, as opposed to having ten cheap things! I sought pieces that reflected who I was — and because I worked hard to maintain my body, I wanted clothes that celebrated it.
I truly believe that a sense of style is something you’re either born with or not. For me, it’s always been within. Choosing the right items is essential — they should flatter your figure, highlight your best features, and reflect your personality. And the beauty of growing older is that you become even better at knowing what works for you.
That said, once you reach the stage of feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin — which naturally comes with age — you gain the ability to carry outfits you might never have considered before. Through your charisma, you make them come alive. That’s exactly how I feel about the pieces that are being prepared for the pageant, and I can’t wait to wear them.
Health as Her Secret Weapon
The dedication it takes to feel and look vibrant at 52 is on a whole different level. When you’re young, your body responds quickly to workouts and lifestyle changes. But as the years go by, your body and skin demand more care, more patience, and more consistency. It’s not just about exercise — it’s about discipline, resilience, and truly honouring yourself every single day.
I have long set myself in a routine where through sports, physical activities and personal workouts at home, I keep my body vibrant and active. I must not forget to mention my swimming in the Mediterranean Sea which is so good not only for my body but also clarity of mind. It is essential that I swim regularly and has become like my ritual. And for that woman who says she does not have time for physical activity, I will say, wake up just half an hour earlier, put on your fitness clothes and start even simply by watching a Youtube work out.
And I would say, that together with my fitness, my nutrition is my biggest asset ! I have invested into food knowledge that comes with age , dare I say. I am not only mindful of what fresh ,organic products I consume but also observe and study how they effect my body and I know what makes me feel and look full of vitality.
Mission with Meaning
If I had to work hard for a mission today which empowers women and in turn, her own family and community is to learn how to feed herself the best foods and train her body and mind to give her the strength and abilities with which she can conquer the world.
I learnt this late in life but I am proud to say that I am at that stage in my life and eager to share it with you on the pageantry stage.
Media as a Megaphone
For me, pageants aren’t just about being seen — they’re about personal growth and allowing others to feel and hear that. At 52, I’ve lived a full life, faced challenges, and gained experiences that have shaped who I am. Media exposure gives me a platform to share this journey, to inspire others, and to show that beauty is not defined by age.
I want to use this opportunity to amplify the message that confidence, self-expression, and resilience matter just as much as appearance. By stepping onto this stage, I hope to encourage women of all ages but especially the ones who are over a certain age and consider themselves no longer so beautiful, to embrace themselves, pursue their passions, and know that their voice and story are what makes them beautiful and worthy of a crown!
As a conclusion to my story here today I would like to end with this reflection I have made. I do believe that the struggles I have had in life gave me a resilience which has more than helped me have the stamina to do what it takes to be the way I am today. My health and happiness are the focus of my life and I will do whatever it takes to preserve them. So my advice to the women out there is to use all your strength from your own story and create the life you want for yourself! Whatever age you are in , you can always make that choice and start!
I am very persistent and goal oriented
I understand that not everyone may be self motivated so if I may suggest a few steps to get you there , here’s my advice .
Surround yourself with a few friends that inspire you in this regard and try to join them in their activities . When you find something you really like , commit to it . Schedule it in your diary as you would schedule your other errands. Swap social media time with a physical activity . The more you practice , the more the good feeling drives you and your mind and body will want it and it slowly becomes natural and a part of your daily life.
