Working in the DCPS School system has a special education teacher is a reward that comes form making a positive impact on my CES student lives by helping them overcome challenges and witnessing their growth and progress. The purpose of serving as a special education teacher is to provide tailored support, accommodations, and instruction to the student with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have equal opportunities to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. I also foster a supportive environment to build confidence, achieve their academic goals and successfully navigate their educational journey, ultimately preparing them for the future success in school and beyond. Being a single mother of 6 comes with it’s challenges, but its’s also incredibly rewarding. I have the opportunity to build strong bonds with my children, develop resilience, and witness their growth firsthand. Being a single mom allows you to instill important values and lessons, and I can take pride in the independence and strength I demonstrate to my children, Overall, the experience of motherhood, even as a single parent, is filled with love, joy and personal growth.
