My mom, Carmin, 76, and I, Carmin, 42, share more than just a name—we share a bond strengthened by resilience, passion, and an unwavering belief in second chances. Together, we’ve embarked on a journey to inspire women to embrace opportunities, no matter their age.
One of our greatest adventures began in Malta, where I moved 16 years ago and welcomed my mother seven years ago. What started as a simple effort to help her integrate into the local culture turned into incredible experiences.
OUR JOURNEY
Seeking fun and meaningful activities, we stumbled upon the vibrant Maltese film industry and acting roles for local commercial adverts. This serendipitous discovery opened doors, including participation in TV series such as National Geographic’s Genius: Picasso, Foundation by Apple TV+, Das Boot, and adverts for well-known local brands. These experiences not only enriched our lives but also ignited a passion for storytelling and creativity.
My mom’s courage and adaptability amazed me as she embraced these opportunities. At 75, she stepped onto the runway for the first time, modeling for LIndex, a Swedish fashion retailer. This moment marked a milestone not just for her, but for us as a team, showcasing that life can hold surprises at any age.
As for me, 2024 was a year of personal achievement, walking the runways of Paris, Milan, Malta, and New York Fashion Week. These experiences were more than professional highlights—they were moments that reinforced my belief in the power of perseverance.
Our dual lives reflect the beauty of embracing multiple paths. My mom, both an engineer and an artist, had her work selected for the prestigious Malta Community Chest Fund Fine Arts Auction in 2018 and has made significant artistic contributions to local NGOs.

Meanwhile, I balance my roles as a successful Operational Risk Manager and an international model. Together, we hope to inspire others to expand their horizons and embrace the possibilities beyond a single discipline.
