How has your involvement in pageantry shaped your personal definition of beauty over the years?
As a national director in the world of pageantry, my perspective on beauty has evolved significantly over the years, shaped by my work with countless women from diverse backgrounds.
When I first began in the industry, the conventional notion of beauty often focused on physical attributes: mainly height and traditional standards. However, through my experience directing pageants, I’ve come to realize that beauty is so much more than just what we see on the surface.
We increasingly emphasize that beauty is about confidence, strength, resilience, and individuality. Contestants are encouraged to embrace their unique qualities — whether it’s their story, passions, or ambitions. It’s something that grows as people find their voice, develop their self-esteem, and become more comfortable in their own skin. As a director, I have witnessed firsthand how a contestant’s confidence can completely transform their presence and radiate a beauty that goes beyond physical appearance.
In recent years, there has been a shift toward more inclusivity. We are recognizing different body types, ethnicities, and personal experiences. It’s about empowering women to define beauty on their own terms. When a contestant walks onto the stage, what makes her stand out is not just her external appearance but the way she carries herself and her authenticity. It’s how she uses her platform to inspire others.
What inner motivations have driven you to dedicate your life to empowering women through beauty pageants?
What drives me personally is the opportunity to help these young women unlock their potential. Pageants are so much more than just a competition; they are a journey of self-discovery.
Contestants come in with a variety of experiences, backgrounds, dreams, and goals. The motivation is to guide them through that journey — whether it’s improving their public speaking, walking with confidence, understanding their own value, or learning to navigate challenges with resilience. It can also be life-changing, often in ways contestants never imagined. It’s a reward to see someone gain self-assurance and develop a clearer sense of purpose.
Ultimately, I believe that empowering women through pageants gives them the tools they need to change their lives — and maybe change the lives of others. Seeing a contestant develop from someone uncertain of their abilities, a shy introvert, into a confident, outspoken young woman is a deeply fulfilling experience. It’s not about the crowns or titles; it’s about providing a platform where women can shine, speak up, and show the world what they’re capable of.
What advice would you offer to young women entering the pageant world today, based on your extensive experience?
Be true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up trying to fit a mold, but real strength comes from embracing your unique qualities — your story, passions, and perspectives.
Confidence is key. It comes from experience, self-reflection, and facing challenges head-on. It’s tough, but it sets you apart.
Pageantry isn’t just about winning; it’s about growth, learning, and becoming the best version of yourself. Mental and physical preparation is essential. The behind-the-scenes work can be intense, but it’s worth it when the big day arrives.
Remember, not winning the crown is just a setback. The experience shapes your future and opens new doors. Focus on what matters, because what you learn stays with you forever.
What does empowerment mean to you, and how have you worked to instil this in the women you’ve coached and inspired?
Empowerment means giving women the tools, confidence, and support to recognize their worth, embrace their strengths, and control their narrative. It’s about breaking limitations, challenging expectations, and believing in their potential, no matter their background or obstacles. True empowerment fosters a mindset where women know they are enough and can shape their future.
In pageantry and television, I create spaces where women feel seen, heard, and valued. By building inner strength and resilience, they are prepared not just for the stage, but for life.
Empowerment isn’t just taught — it’s shown through daily actions. When women see others rise through challenges and stand up for their beliefs, they’re inspired to do the same.
TELEVISION
One of the most rewarding parts of being a TV producer is connecting with people on a deeper level and inspiring positive change. Both pageantry and television emphasize discipline, confidence, and engaging diverse audiences. These experiences shape my work — whether I’m interviewing guests, producing a show, or collaborating on meaningful projects. Using voice and visibility to raise awareness and share stories is incredibly fulfilling, especially when my work deeply resonates with others.
LEGACY
In both pageantry and television, I hope my legacy goes beyond appearance and entertainment, focusing on empowerment, authenticity, and connection. In pageantry, I aim to redefine beauty standards, advocate for mental health, and inspire self-love. In television, I strive to amplify diverse voices, tell meaningful stories, and use media to inspire unity. Ultimately, I want to encourage future generations to pursue their passions with integrity and embrace true beauty from within.
FUTURE
I hope to one day host my own TV show, where I can continue sharing inspiring stories, raising awareness, and forming meaningful connections. I also envision a project highlighting women who break barriers in industries like sports, technology, entertainment, and science. Shining a light on their achievements, stories, and challenges is something I’m deeply passionate about. I’m incredibly excited about what the future holds and can’t wait to share more as it unfolds, inspiring others along the way!
